  1. What is a Darwinex account?

    It's an account you hold with Darwinex which is associated to a MiFID profile* and, once your profile is verified, lets you open several live trading accounts, a live investor account, create an affiliate link and create Darwins on top of your live trading accounts.

    Further, without the need to verify your profile, your Darwinex account lets you open demo trading and investor accounts and link - for analytical purposes- MT4 accounts you hold with other brokers.

    A Darwinex account is associated with a public username that cannot be changed. Be careful when choosing your username!

    A Darwinex account can be held in only one currency which then needs to be the currency of all trading accounts opened from this Darwinex accounts and must also be the currency of the investor account.

    * The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) 2004/39/EC requires firms to categorise clients as "eligible counterparties" and verify their identity and residence.

  2. What types of accounts are offered?

    We offer two types of accounts:

    Individual / joint account, with a minimum deposit of 500 EUR / GBP / USD.

    Corporate account, with a minimum deposit of 10000 EUR / GBP / USD.

    You'll be asked to choose your account type when opening a live trading or investor account from our platform for the first time.

    Once chosen and verified, account type cannot be changed later on.

  3. What requisites are there for joint accounts?

    Individuals that have a joint Darwinex account must also have a joint bank account for depositing and withdrawing monies.

  4. What documents are required for account verification?

    Individual / joint accounts

    - Copy of valid ID card or passport

    - Proof of residence not older than 3 months - this can be a copy of a recent utility bill or bank statement

    Corporate accounts

    - Legal Entity Identifier (LEI)

    - Memorandum and Articles of Association

    - Copy of register of Shareholders

    - Copy of Register of Directors

    - Proof of Registered address (original utility bill or bank statement displaying the Company’s Name and Registered Address dated within the las t3 months

    - Proof of Operating address (original utility bill or bank statement displaying the Company’s Name and Registered Address dated within the last 3 months

    - Individual verification of all active Directors (copy of passport and a recent original residential utility bill for each)

    - Individual verification of Shareholders/Beneficial Owners with a holding of 25% or more

    - Individual Shareholder (copy of passport and a recent original residential utility bill for each)

    - Corporate Shareholders (a complete list of supporting documentation for each Company as listed above)

  5. How does the Wallet work?

    The wallet is the central Hub for your monies held with Darwinex - it holds your balances which are physically held with Barclays in London.

    Your Wallet can be credited by you, or by us.

    Crediting your Wallet

    You can credit your wallet by sending monies to Darwinex using the available deposit methods.

    When do we credit your Wallet?

    Any monies earned e.g. as Performance or Affiliate Fees will be credited automatically at end of month. Once credited, they are cash, available for you to use as you see fit.

    Using your Wallet within Darwinex

    You may transfer your Wallet funds to trading or investor accounts. Your money is yours, and you can have it any time.

    If there are open trades in your MT4 account, you'll be able to withdraw only 0.8*Free Margin on your MT4 to your Wallet. If there are no open trades in your MT4, you can withdraw funds from your MT4 to your Wallet anytime at no cost.

  6. How can I deposit/withdraw monies?

    Deposits can be made through bank wire or through Union Pay from an account held by the same person as the Darwinex account.

    Deposits can be made also by credit / debit card up to 5000 EUR / USD / GBP per account holder. Due to the limitation on deposits by card, those should be only used for urgent deposits.

    Withdrawals will be processed using the method that was used for the deposit. Card deposits can only be withdrawn to the same card and only up to the amount deposited by card. Bank transfer deposits as well as profits earned at Darwinex can be withdrawn to a bank account in the name of the account holder. UnionPay deposits can be withdrawn to the same UnionPay account the deposit came from and only up to the amount deposited by UnionPay.

  7. What account base currencies are offered?

    Darwinex accounts may be EUR, GBP and USD denominated.

  8. Can I change my account base currency once set?

    No, Wallet currency is one of the characteristics of a Darwinex account that cannot be changed.

  9. Do you charge commissions for account funding/withdrawal?

    We don't charge commissions for account funding or withdrawal.

    However, please note that the banks involved in wiring your money to us or back to you WILL charge commissions.

    We cover our bank´s commission charges for deposits, but we don't cover the ones applied to withdrawals. These charges are as follows:

    Further, check with your bank for your cost of wiring funds internationally to the UK in your chosen base currency - for example wiring EUR from within the EU will qualify for SEPA, which is very cheap.

  10. Is there a minimum account opening amount?

    The minimum account opening amount is 500 EUR / USD / GBP for individual / joint accounts and 10000 EUR / USD / GBP for corporate accounts.

    No minimum applies to successive deposits or withdrawals.

  11. How do I transfer funds from my Wallet to my MT4 account?

    1. Log in to Darwinex

    2. Click "Wallet" (on the left side of your screen)

    3. Click "Manage Funds" (on the right side of your screen)

    4. Click "From Wallet to MT4" (second option)

    5. Choose Wallet as "Source" and the relevant trading account as "Target Account"

    6. Type the amount you'd like to transfer

    You are all set to trade on your MT4!

    Note: If no account appears as "Target Account", you'd need to open an MT4 Real Account so you can transfer your funds from your Wallet (click "Trading Accounts" followed by "Open Real Darwinex Account" to create a new MT4 account)

  12. How do I transfer funds from my Wallet to my Investor account?

    1. Log in to Darwinex

    2. Go to your Dashboard

    3. Click the "Add Funds" button under the "Real Investor Account label" (on the upper right side of your Dashboard)

    4. Type the amount you'd like to transfer from your Wallet to your investor account

    You are all set to invest in DARWINs!

  13. I have both investor and trading accounts, may I transfer monies across them?

    All money flows to/from Darwinex are centralized in your user Wallet.

    For example, to fund your investor account with monies held in your trading account, your trading account would first credit your wallet, which will then fund your investor account.

    No charges apply, and the process is immediate.

  14. If I have already opened one real trading account with you and I decide to open more, is the still a minimum deposit for each?

    No, the minimum deposit only applies to your first deposit.

  15. I'm a US citizen/resident, can I open an account with Darwinex?

    Unfortunately, due to the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010, for regulatory reasons we are not allowed to provide brokerage and investment services to US citizens or residents.

    Soon we'll partner up with a US broker and will start on-boarding US citizens as clients. We'll let you know when this happens!

    In the meantime, you are welcome to open demo trading and investor accounts and if you have an MT4 account with another broker, we would love you to connect it to Darwinex so we can analyze your trading skills.

  16. I'm a Japanese citizen, can I open an account with Darwinex?

    Unfortunately, due to Japanese customer protection regulation, we are not allowed to provide brokerage and investment services to Japanese citizens.

    You are welcome to open demo trading and investor accounts and if you have an MT4 account with another broker, we would love you to connect it to Darwinex so we can analyze your trading skills.

  17. I'm an Irani citizen/resident, can I open an account with Darwinex?

    Unfortunately, due to Irani customer protection regulation, we are not allowed to provide brokerage and investment services to Irani citizens or residents.

    You are welcome to open demo trading and investor accounts and if you have an MT4 account with another broker, we would love you to connect it to Darwinex so we can analyze your trading skills.
